| Pike & Fischer Re-launches Communications Regulation Web Service, Bringing FCC Record Content to the Desktop June 3, 2004 Silver Spring, MD -- Legal and business publisher Pike & Fischer, a subsidiary of The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc., unveiled their redesigned Communications Regulation web service on Thursday at the Federal Communications Bar Association's (FCBA) celebration commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Communications Act of 1934. Communications Regulation was developed in response to a 1947 request by FCBA members who needed a legal reporting tool to track developing case law and regulatory activity. Nearly 60 years later the service remains the information tool of choice among legal and regulatory communications professionals in law firms, corporations, the government and academia. The redesigned service offers a new search engine, a more user friendly interface and access to critical communications content, including FCC Regulations, Notices of Proposed Rulemaking and Notices of Inquiry, the full text of FCC and court decisions, topical digests written by Pike & Fischer attorney-editors and news and analysis from The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. The new service also offers exclusive access to FCC Record documents in PDF format - an industry first. "We're thrilled to announce the re-launch of Communications Regulation in conjunction with the FCBA's celebration. FCBA members have relied on our services since the very beginning and their product feedback drives our development efforts which make announcing at this event particularly rewarding," said Meg Hargreaves, President of Pike & Fischer. FCBA President-Elect Harry C. Martin welcomed the new service: "The new Communications Regulation web service is Pike & Fischer's best yet. The inclusion of FCC Record content in PDF format is a great improvement, and the search functions are easier than ever to use." FCBA members were interviewed extensively as part of the market research phase of Pike & Fischer's product development process. To thank the FCBA for their years of partnership and product input, Pike & Fischer is offering all FCBA members a free 30-day trial to the new web service, which is also available in print and on CD-Rom. |
